Managing parking operations across nearly every state in the country means juggling 20,000 employees, thousands of cost center locations, 33 pay groups, and a 24/7 operation that never stops. For LAZ Parking, the largest parking operator in North America, workforce management had become too complex for their legacy software to handle.
By partnering with TCP and implementing both TimeClock Plus and Humanity Schedule, LAZ built a connected, enterprise-grade solution that scaled to their complexity, improved payroll accuracy, and set the stage for smarter, demand-driven scheduling across their multi-state operations.
A growing company that had outgrown its software
Previously, LAZ Parking had relied on older software for more than 15 years. In the organization’s early days, it worked. But, as LAZ grew through acquisitions and expanded into new markets, the software couldn’t keep pace.
“Our previous software was built for organizations with under 5,000 employees,” explained Senior Payroll Director Jay Blutt, who led the cross-functional evaluation team at LAZ. “We needed something that could scale with us. We’re at 20,000 now and heading toward 35,000 to 40,000.”
Scheduling presented its own set of problems. Multiple regional tools operated with no integration to HR or payroll. Managers manually maintained employee rosters with no reliable way to know when a team member was no longer active. Errors crept in, hours were wasted, and the lack of centralized visibility was apparent.
LAZ also knew they weren’t looking for an all-in-one HCM solution. They were committed to ADP Vantage® for core HR and payroll and needed a standalone, best-in-class solution for time and attendance and employee scheduling that would integrate cleanly with and grow alongside their existing systems.
A time and attendance, and scheduling solution built for complexity
TCP stood out from the field for one simple reason: it does one thing exceptionally well.
After a thorough evaluation, LAZ’s cross-functional team recommended TCP to their board, and the decision was unanimous.
TimeClockPlus: one time and attendance solution for every employee
LAZ began rolling out TimeClock Plus in early 2024, completing the national phased deployment in December 2025. Today, it serves as the centralized time and attendance solution for all 20,000 employees, hourly and salaried alike.
“People are really enjoying it,” Blutt said. “It works very well. It’s simple.”
Salaried employees, previously managed separately through ADP Vantage®, also use TimeClock Plus for time off requests and accruals without friction. With 33 pay groups closing weekly and biweekly, the payroll team now wraps up hours earlier on Tuesdays than they ever did before. That recovered time translates directly into less end-of-day stress, more capacity for strategic work, and a payroll team that isn’t racing the clock every week.
Humanity Schedule: smarter scheduling for a 24/7 operation
When LAZ selected TimeClock Plus, adding Humanity Schedule was a natural next step. The organization had never had an employee scheduling solution that connected directly to time and attendance, and payroll, and the gap was costing them in manual work, data errors, and management challenges.
They needed demand-based scheduling. LAZ’s 24/7 customer care center handles inbound calls from parking facilities across the country, and effectively staffing that operation requires forecasting against historical demand patterns tied to day of week, time of year, and holidays. Humanity Schedule’s Demand Scheduler is built exactly for this kind of dynamic, data-informed staffing.
“Once our managers see what Humanity Schedule can do, they will be very excited,” Blutt said. “The difference in what they’ll be able to do is significant.”
For managers who have been building manual schedules by hand, Humanity Schedule eliminates one of the most time-consuming parts of the job. Shift coverage, availability tracking, and schedule changes that once required back-and-forth communication are handled directly in the software, freeing managers to focus on their teams and clients.
A shared connection to ADP Vantage®
One of the most meaningful efficiency drivers in LAZ’s workforce management setup is the integrations between TimeClock Plus, Humanity Schedule, and ADP Vantage®.
With TimeClock Plus integrated into ADP Vantage®, new hires flow from LAZ’s applicant tracking software (Fountain®) into ADP Vantage®, and from ADP Vantage® directly into TimeClock Plus. When an employee’s record is updated in ADP Vantage®, that change carries through automatically, keeping data accurate and current across their connected tech stack. Schedules stay accurate, rosters reflect current headcount, and managers are always working from reliable data.
This kind of data integrity and visibility across connected solutions removes a chronic source of payroll errors and scheduling confusion for LAZ, and it will get stronger as their Humanity Schedule rollout continues.
A collaborative approach to product development
LAZ’s scale and operational complexity created opportunities for TCP and LAZ to build together. Complex multi-state compliance requirements and highly customized workflows pushed both teams to find creative solutions, and the results have made the software stronger for everyone.
Faster payroll, greater accuracy, and workforce solution built to scale
Since implementing TimeClock Plus, LAZ Parking has seen measurable gains across the organization:
- Improved efficiency – The payroll team closes earlier on Tuesdays, recovering time previously lost to last-minute processing and freeing the team for higher-value work.
- Greater accuracy – End-to-end data flow via Fountain®, ADP Vantage®, and TimeClock Plus reduces manual entry and the errors that come with it.
- One solution for all 20,000 employees – Hourly and salaried workers are now managed on a single time and attendance solution, reducing complexity and inconsistency.
- Real-time data hygiene – Employee record changes in ADP Vantage® carry through automatically, keeping scheduling and payroll data accurate across every connected solution.
- Strong adoption – With thorough pre-launch training and an intuitive design, teams across all regions embraced the software quickly.
What’s next for LAZ Parking and TCP
Humanity Schedule is on track for full national rollout by the end of the year. As more of LAZ’s regional teams come online, the organization will gain a fully integrated scheduling and time and attendance solution that works in concert with ADP Vantage®, giving managers better data, less manual work, and more confidence in every schedule they publish.
LAZ is also among the first to preview TimeClock Plus Analytics 2.0, a newly enhanced self-service reporting capability, which Blutt called a “game changer” for the team.
